The lodge is conveniently located just off Highway 550 at the base of Red Mountain #3. The Red Mountain Group (Red Mountains #1, #2, and #3) are some of the most recognizable peaks in the area due to their lofty elevation and unmistakable red/orange coloration.
A great number of stunning peaks and basins surround you in every direction, all of which offer excellent hiking opportunities! Inspiring peaks like Trico, Telluride, and a host of other high alpine terrain – both above and below treeline are all right there for you to access from the front door of the lodge. High alpine above treeline bowls, craggy ridges, unbelievable summit views – there is literally no better access to the Red Mountain Pass backcountry than that found at The Red Mountain Alpine Lodge.

Day 3
ROOT FEST: RUBAR, Live Music, Arts & Crafts, & SO MUCH MORE!
(Babysitter included!)
Early risers can enjoy a morning self-serve snack and coffee, followed by all ages yoga on the deck. In the late morning, dive-into hot breakfast. Enjoy a free morning before lunch and the kick off of ROOT FEST! Kids’ activities and babysitting provided by Arts & Minds start just in time for the parents to start the 2nd Annual Rubar: a costume-clad scavenger hunt/race around our lodge, topped with a couple adult beverages! We encourage parents to leave kids with the babysitters for the race (though certainly not required). We’ll finish the race with afternoon live music on the deck and a kids’ craft station. After a chef-prepared dinner, parents put kids to bed (babysitter included), then meet at the yoga deck for socializing, dancing and drinks.
